Director, El Camino Healthcare District Board of Directors

I seek re-election to the El Camino Healthcare District Board as I have the institutional knowledge, experience, passion and commitment needed to face challenges and focus on providing quality access for patient care. El Camino Health is a world-class award-winning health system comprised of two hospitals, El Camino and Los Gatos and 12 community clinics. We also collaborate with community organizations by providing nine million dollars of community benefits to insure our community is healthy.

I have served on the board of the El Camino Healthcare District for twelve years, including as Chair and Vice Chair. During my tenure, I have been a fierce advocate for accessibility and transparency in our excellent health system and maintaining El Camino Hospital as an independent locally controlled health system.

I also served on the board of El Camino Hospital, as corporate secretary for 7 years, vice chair of the Compliance and Audit committee and on the Governance committee. Also serve as board liaison to El Camino Heath Foundation. In this role was able to raise over $11M for the hospital. I have previous experience serving on the Executive Compensation committee, the Community Benefits Advisory Council and as vice president of the Association of California Healthcare Districts. My experience, expertise and knowledge stretch beyond healthcare and provide me with a unique perspective as one of the nonmedical board members. I have been deeply involved in my community for decades, as a long time Lockheed Martin employee, serving on regional and local boards and former Mayor of Sunnyvale. These roles provided me with skills in building relationships and coalitions to ensure accountability.

Our collective efforts allowed El Camino hospital to maintain our solid reputation and financial base, open new facilities: Behavioral Health & Addiction Services; Integrated Medical Office facility provides one-stop services; and expand Orchard Pavilion providing superb maternal-child healthcare for women, newborns and families.

My priorities are to support technology solutions, provide our patients with excellent care and treatment, expand services for critical needs, mental health, heart and vascular, diabetes, oncology and Neurosciences. With your support, we will meet these goals of financial prudence, local control, and a community-driven community benefits plan that ensures our patients’ future health and safety.
